Congressional Black Caucus member confronts Allen West at the CBC Convention. “It’s great that we have President Barack Hussein Obama as the first black, African-American President of the United States of America, but I didn’t have to someone beyond my own dad,” West said. “When you look at the black family structure right now, less than 33 percent have mother and father in the home. Once upon a time in the black community you didn’t have to look at people outside your home for role models. We’ve have got to get that re-established so we don’t have to look up to Washington DC You can look at your dads.”

Years ago when I lived in DC, the fathers lived with their families. Why is this a black thing today? Why did the black man leave his family?

They deal with how issues affect a group and we need wiser men who will address issues that affect AMERICA…and AMERICANS. @falcon007 , I am not a fan of Obamas and i plan on voting for Herman cain in the primaries and hopefully in the general election. But I have to say I still respect Obama because he is the president. I am an American. That is what Americans do whether you disagree or agree with politics. The people who voted for Obama may be more to blame than Obama, We put him there.
@falcon007 , The point that I was trying to make is that the a black democrat was destined to win the presidency than a black republican. The reason is because obviously black dems have been brainwashed to believe that repubs is a racist party. So they have a mistrust. But seeing a black president regardless of party makes seeing a black repub such as Herman Cain not as impossible as is seemed not too long ago. Thats all.
@Truth77Absolute Why would it have been impossible for the republicans to “break the ceiling?” The percentage of black republicans is incredibly low when you compare it to black democrats. Your comment hints that this is a racist party which, as you can see from Cain and West’s popularity, isn’t true. It’s been a lack of strong enough black candidates who were willing to go after the Office.

I am not a Obama fan but i was thinking we shoild all thank him if you are African American or another minority, because the republican party would have never accomplished breaking this glass ceiling.It had to be a democrat. But now that the ceiling has been broken it is not far fetched to see Herman cain as our next president. Or even Allen West in 2016
