How can I possibly vote for republicans again?

by on February 17, 2013

I have voted for republicans most of my life. I am 50 years old now. I do not see how I could vote republican again when republicans want to get rid of social security, a system i have paid into for 35 years. Is there any reason I should keep voting republican?

you lie, and your breath probably stinks

Start by pulling your head out of your rear.

They do not want to be rid of it, they want to fix it so it is still there when you retire. The Democrats are the ones you should worry about it. They want to continue drive it into non-existence. If they maintain control there will be no money in SS for you.

have you heard of obama?
can you actually vote for him??..

Jayne Savage February 17, 2013 at 6:36 pm

You are so misguided. I was a DemocRAT until OWE BAMA and I will never vote LEFTIST again. They’ve turned the party Commie and if you’re a Commie Lover, than vote for them, we won’t miss you.

Youre trolling.

Yeah so vote for Obama so illegals can smuggle in their kids and tell your kids to bugger off. Truly, you are to stupid, why not check out tonight.

No, there are not any reasons, and there are many, many reasons to vote Democrat. One important one: Supreme Court nominations.

The Republicans only serve the rich now. It was not always so–the Republican Party was once proud and important, but it has sold its soul to its far-right extreme fringe and now it doesn’t know how to get it back.

They also want to get rid of Medicare. In other words, they don’t care about anyone who makes under a million a year. I assume that includes both of us, so we should both vote Democratic.

No one is trying to get rid of SS. Why make such a false accusation?

datsdaone2000 February 17, 2013 at 9:12 pm

Just do what’s in your heart.

Republicans have no plans to get rid of Social Security. If you really are 50, then you really have no excuse other than stupidity to believe the Democrats’ fairy tales.

they retain our older values instead of pushing us more towards a socialist type of government which is everything this country is against. they believe in less government which means lower taxes and less restrictions and more freedoms. that’s why.

Your choice, vote Democrat and start trying to write down reasons you should not be euthanized when you can no longer work.

Jimmy February 17, 2013 at 10:34 pm

tell the truth, you’re 21 and Nancy Pelosi has you convinced that Republicans are going to screw you

Funny that I feel exactly the opposite from you. Below is an answer I just gave to a question about how Obama is abusing power.

———————–

“Well this is an easy one.

As President, he took an oath to uphold the Constitution and to enforce the laws passed by Congress. He can’t (well he shouldn’t anyway) pick and choose and decide which laws he will enforce and which he won’t. Two recent examples – in fact one of these is today.

First is his administration’s refusal to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. That act was lawfully passed by Congress, signed into law by the President and held Constitutional by the Supreme Court. He has a legal duty to enforce that law. Yet he and Holder decided they would not enforce it and would not even defend it when challenged. That’s number one.

Number two: His unilateral and illegal decision announced today to not deport clearly illegal immigrants. The law requires his administration to do so. Yet he is flaunting the law for purely political and electoral reasons.

There are many others but I think you get the drift.

And so you know I’m not some sort of right wing nut, I am a registered Republican but have been particularly dismayed about what has happened to the GOP over the past years. I voted for Obama simply as a protest vote against Bush but voted for most other Republicans on the ballot.

But this year I vow to vote for every Republican on the ballot, regardless of how idiotic they are or how semi-Fascist they may seem. We need Obama out ASAP.”

RockHunter February 18, 2013 at 12:10 am

If you’re stupid enough to believe Democrat lies, we don’t need you anyhow. Democraps have been stealing from SS for decades, that’s how Clinton “balanced” the budget.

Wobble February 18, 2013 at 1:08 am

Yes. You must vote for them so the plan to enslave the poor and middle class continues to move forward.

John Hinkle February 18, 2013 at 1:41 am

I seriously doubt you are Republican and or voted Republican “most of your life” I’d venture to guess you considered voting for Reagan for a second term but where too young to vote and now use that as I always vote Republican.

That and you need to stop listening to the dnc talking points and search out the TRUTH yourself.

The Return of the Ghost February 18, 2013 at 2:05 am

In talk radio you would be called a seminar caller.

That is someone that pretends to be a Conservative but then precedes to rip conservative values to shreds while whining about how things have changed.

For example; they say that they have voted for the Republicans for years but can no longer do so because of the the Republicans new found support for gun rights.

You merely substituted a lie about Social Security.

You need to work on it if you want to be a successful troll.

timetravler February 18, 2013 at 2:49 am

That is 100% false. Republicans do NOT want to get rid of social security. Want they want is to privatize it so that in 30 years we still have social security.

mckenziecalhoun February 18, 2013 at 3:00 am

Some of us are old enough to remember the early arguments against S.S.

“It will not be used for it’s intended purpose.”
“It is a step toward Socialism.”
“It is a scheme that will go bankrupt.”

TA DA!

So you want to push it even farther until it just pays out?
Fine, it will collapse sooner.

You want to put more money into it? FORGET IT.

I’m in the same boat.
I’m a democrat. But we must not continue to send bad money after bad money.

. Smith February 18, 2013 at 3:29 am

You are right in your concerns and i believe it is much worse than that. The want to have a let them eat cake attitude towards what was the engine of the world. And i am referring to the middle class that made all these people rich, who have taken away all major manufacturing jobs over the last few decades and no longer see a need for you and me.They would be just as happy for the middle class to fall back into the 1800s,and i really don’t understand that more people aren’t thinking with you.Good luck, and tighten your belt because if the republicans get their way social security will not be what you had planned on.

RoseMarie February 18, 2013 at 4:11 am

You have more reason not to vote Republican, the Tea Party is the new Radical Republican Party.
